Women's Health
We're excited to announce a special initiative at the clinic—a Women's Health Program designed for women aged 13 to 39. Our focus is on providing comprehensive and personalized care, emphasizing preventive healthcare. This means ensuring all women have access to essential screenings for cancer and sexually transmitted infections, as well as family planning care.
Our Nurse Practitioners (NPs) lead this program. In the province of Ontario, Nurse Practitioners are registered healthcare professionals with specialized training, enabling them to assess, diagnose, and treat common health issues.
Within the women’s health program, the following services will be offered:
- HPV tests (previously called PAP test) for women aged 25-39
- Sexually transmitted infections, counseling and treatment
- Contraceptive counseling including IUD and Nexplanon implant insertion and follow-ups
- Family planning including medical abortion
- Care related to perimenopause and menopause for women aged 35 and up
In addition to individual care, we also offer group sessions designed to support women through key life stages:
The purpose of this information session is to increase your knowledge of feminine health, particularly the transition to menopause.
The information presented will help you better understand common symptoms, the phases of menopause, recommended treatment options, the potential impact on mental health, and strategies and tools to better manage inconvenient symptoms.
- Duration: One session of 90-120 minutes.
- Referral: Self-referral accepted.
Discussion on hormone therapy (HRT) and other treatment options for various menopause symptoms. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive a prescription for their chosen treatment, if there are no contraindications.
Important: Participants must have previously completed the session: Feminine Health (On the way to menopause!)
- Duration: One session of 120 minutes
